Black Friday can be a great opportunity to bag a bargain and get all your Christmas shopping done at once (and at a fraction of the full retail price.) But as the event gets more popular getting it right can be tricky, check out our top tips to survive Black Friday, below:
It can be tempting to snap up anything that looks cheap, but don’t make any rash decisions. Stores and online retailers stock up heavily for this day, so shop around and see what else is out there before you make a final choice.
Not just electronics.
It’s not just electrical items on sale; a wide range of companies are now offering other deals including holidays, clothes, cosmetics and toys.Including Eurocamp! More details on bagging a great value holiday, here.
Make a list of certain items you may have your eye on and check in advance to see which stores are offering the best deals. If deal-hunting online, bookmark the items which take your interest so you can go directly to the page instead of having to search again.
Watch out for scammers.
Beware of illegitimate websites and scammers who will try to take advantage of frantic shoppers at this busy time. Always make sure the padlock symbol appears in the address bar and the address itself matches up to the site’s homepage.
Don’t worry if you miss it.
Black Friday may offer some really great discounts for a variety of items and holidays, however don’t worry if you miss out. Companies are now expanding the days the deals are available. Amazon’s sale has already been live for a week now.
Time it right.
Think about the right time to shop and check when deals are going live. Last year Eurocamp’s deals started at one minute past midnight giving shoppers a chance to skip out on peak internet traffic times. These usually surge at around 7pm causing sites to crash and making it difficult to get the best deals.
Set a budget.
It’s easy to get distracted by some of the big discounts and get carried away with additional offers such as accessories and extended warranty. Have in mind a figure that you want to spend and don’t go over it.
